CROFTON, MD – Feb. 13, 2009 – Joseph Bohm, president and CEO of Horizon Builders, a Crofton, Md.-based firm that specializes in the construction of architect-designed, custom residences in the mid-Atlantic region, recently served as a judge for the 2009 Watermark Awards..
The Watermark Awards, sponsored by Builder and Custom Home magazines, are held annually to recognize excellence in the design and construction of residential kitchens and baths. Projects submitted to the competition had to be completed after Jan. 1, 2007 and could be entered in one of 17 categories.
Bohm was one of several industry leaders selected to serve as a judge for this year’s awards. The judges included builders, architects and designers from across the country who came to Washington, D.C. for the day-long event.
Entries were judged based on innovation in architecture, floor plan efficiency, the creative use of materials and interior design. There was also a special focus category for creative treatments deserving of special recognition. All winning entries will be featured in the May 2009 issue of Builder and CustomHomeonline.com.
“The Watermark Awards program is one of the most competitive in the industry,” said Bohm. “Serving as a judge was not only an enlightening and enjoyable experience…it was a privilege.”
