Meet Abe Sari,
Vice President of Operations, Horizon Builders
You could say Abe Sari has the engineering gene. Coming from a family with multiple professional engineers, Abe followed suit earning his civil engineering degree from the University of Texas. While pursuing his graduate engineering degree, he left the classroom and entered the job market switching his focus from design to construction and joining a Houston area residential construction company. Abe’s technical and problem solving skills were an asset to the building industry as he cut his teeth in a booming residential construction market.
After several years in Texas, Abe accepted an engineering position with the City of San Diego in 1986. During a side trip to Washington, DC to visit family, he met with Horizon Builders’ founders to discuss the Project Supervisor position they were looking to fill. Realizing he shared a core philosophy with Horizon leadership — to build custom homes with a high level of craftsmanship and precision—led Abe to alter his west coast plans to join the Horizon Builders team.
During his tenure with Horizon, Abe has helped position the company as a premier builder in the metro Washington area. His dedication to practical efficiency, problem solving capabilities and pursuit of extreme quality has been instrumental in the success of the company. After 10 years with Horizon, Abe earned the title Vice President, although he modestly admits he’s not one for titles.
Well-respected by both architects and owners, Abe bases his personal and professional relationships on respect and trust—an approach he shares with all levels of Horizon team whether on the project site or in the office.
Abe has contributed to the building industry for many years through his participation in numerous AIA chapter and architectural organizations. He serves as an advisor on green technology and building alliance practices to many highly regarded residential architects.
Abe enjoys the Washington area and resides in Bethesda, Maryland with his wife Roya their and two sons. |
